Not Assembled Well from the Factory, Otherwise Great
Many Kato SD70ACe locomotives were not assembled properly at the factory. One of the trucks fell off when I removed it from the box. Fortunately, there is a YouTube video that explains how to reattach the truck correctly. (see "N Scale Kato SD70ACe How the heck do I get the truck in and out") It's a relatively easy fix, unless you happen to be one of "those people".
Nonetheless, this should not happen at all.
It makes one wonder, what other quality control issues are lurking in the Kato line?
Otherwise, I really like this locomotive. It's a beauty! Detail is very good, it pulls well, runs smooth and relatively quiet.

Shims That Shim!
This shim set can radius the F-R bridge to match any common neck radius. They are a tiny bit visible installed, so you may want to blacken them "before" installing on a black F-R. Even if you don't color match them, nobody will notice but you.

2 Cars Too Many
I bought this as an add on to the Kato Santa Fe Super Chief Starter Set because I wanted the 2 shorter cars, baggage express and RPO. The starter set also lacks an F7B unit. What I don't want is more sleeper/lounge cars. In essence, I bought two unwanted cars in order to obtain two desired cars. I deeply resent Kato playing greed games with their clients. It's disrespectful. Nonetheless, the two cars I wanted are not available outside of this set.
Also, while you may add Kato lighting to the longer cars, they are not engineered very well for accepting the light dispersion plate. I needed to glue those in place.
