Zippo Brown Leather Lighter Pouch With Belt Loop, LPLB, New In Box
    Jul 31, 2020
Sewn too tight, snap opens with little pressure.
So I already have 2 and thought I'd get another one for the new lighter I ordered, as past products have been fine and these pouches protect the design on the lighter. It's the same size as the other 2 I have, but the stitching is very tight. So tight my plain lighter will not come out without the lid opening and a great deal of stress is put on the hinge. The actual lighter I purchased at the same time as this did not fit as received, it has a 3D design on the front that makes it thicker. I've since stretched it and after a couple of weeks it is now somewhat workable, however hiking with it on a belt it fell off, the snap just opened. The oldest one I own is easily 10 years old and I never had a problem with it. I'm going to weld or crimp the snap so it doesn't open and if I use it will thread it on my belt. Most likely though I'll switch out the lighter and use it more for a case. So no, I can't recommend buying it online. Go to a store and make sure the one you pick up off the shelf works and the snap feels secure. Note same type of issue happened when I purchased a $95 compass though the mail, the one they sent me came with a bubble in it. I guess I haven't learned yet.
Vintage ~ UNIDEN Bearcat BC 172XL 20 Channel Programmable Scanner ~ Works Great!
    Oct 27, 2020
UNIDEN Bearcat BC 172XL great receiver but old technology
Here's the issue, many operations like airports, hospitals, fire departments, and police departments have gone digital so you can't tune in their signal with this analog unit. I live close to NYC and Teterboro Airport in NJ. I have gotten quite a few signals in my high density population. Many of you may not, in that case it's just a glorified weather reporter. The usefulness of analog scanners has faded in many areas. I think I would recommend shortwave instead of this and that has traffic reduction challenges as well. The shame is the unit itself is very good quality, very solid, and a good value for the current price point, so the problem is lack of activity not the unit. Reason for the purchase is to have in my radio room as a blast from the past, for collection purposes rather than function.
