💯 A REAL LOOK- Collective Minds: Chatboost Pad (PS4) - IS IT A GEM_💎_ or_ IS IT JUNK_❌_
The Chatboost is cleanly packaged and comes with simple literature that lays out connecting the Chatboost which is done via bluetooth, on the Playstation, (Accessed Settings- B.T. Devices- Add) and takes less time than the unboxing itself.
The Chatboost is equipped with a well-thought-out, 3-position power switch, that is moved according to your current need. (OFF-ON-CHARGE)
The Chatboost is independently charged and has brightly backlit keys for easy use in the darkest of gaming rooms. The lights are activated by a cleverly-placed button on the underside of the chatpad which requires no fumbling to find. Engaging the button with a "click" sends a brilliant blue backlight through the keys.
The keys themselves could be described as a bit "gummy" side but, not so much that they would be inclined to hold on to dirt or debris. Their heights are low enough to not allow large build-up in between the keys but, high enough that you know that you have punched one when typing, though there is no audible "click" here. Use of the Chatboost's keys can be done in both "ON" as well as "CHARGE" modes.
When the power switch is moved from the "OFF" to "ON" position, the backlight strobes twice to acknowledge power being supplied. However, when moving from "ON" to "CHARGE", it is the PlayStation controller that responds here. The charging icon should promptly pop up on-screen to let you know that the Chatboost is doing one of, if not its best intended duty.
Don't get me wrong here! If you find yourself frequently navigating the pop-up keyboard on the PlayStation with your thumbsticks for whatever reason, this thing is worth its weight in gold simply for the time and hassle it saves you here. BUT...if you happen to be one of the MANY people who have a second PlayStation controller on deck for when your controller in hand dies out....Right here is the solution to your problem. (or an aid to it). In regular, repeated use of my Chatboost's charging feature, I've yet to run my handy little boost-box into the ground. I'll confirm that a full controller charge will come from the tiny keyboard/charger combo and I would assume a full charge....and a half lays inside of the Chatboost.
