A handy adapter ring to expand M42 thread to M48 thread
My focuser does not accept 2" eyepieces, but has an M42 thread around its 1.25" eyepiece holder tube.
Probably, it is there to accept a T-adapter for photography.
This ring just expands M42 to M48 which happens to be the inner thread of a 2" eyepiece. Now the thread fits directly to my 2" eyepiece inner tube or my 2'' eyepiece holder extension tube. The heavy 2" eyepiece looks secure when attached to this ring. Time will tell if it is of high quality, but I don't see why it should not last long as I don't intend to abuse it. Now on the ring will always stay around the 1.25'' eyepiece holder tube.

Carl Zeiss 8x30W : Classic Porro binoculars with exceptional quality.
Very good little binoculars. In the same league as other vintage German binoculars.
The model reviewed was constructed in 1978 (s/n 4717***) and does not have the latest magenta Zeiss coatings.
However, it does have coatings that are very effective and colours look natural, without the yellow tint present in other models.
These binoculars are lightweight, very sharp and clear, wide-angle, very bright and contrasty in daylight. They have very smooth focusing, few internal reflections or any aberrations, etc.
In terms of image quality, control smoothness and accuracy, they could be marginally better than my Beck Kassel Avus and can easily compare or surpass affordable modern fully multi-coated binoculars.

Nice dial giving new style to old watch
This dial fit a 40-year old 2409 movement watch. With new black hands, it looks like a new watch!
