Good reel but the spool design is wrong
1 of 1 found this helpful Good reel but the spool design is wrong it too tall and doesn't work well with braid as the rotor travel is short of the full height of the spool and braid gets caught up. Okay with nylon though.

Upgrded from the Mk4 which I loved and stll use for photos but this version is better for my needs in many ways.

The 4k and HD video is great but no mic input makes getting good sound a bit more complicated This version is better for my needs in many ways. I shoot a lot of 4k wildlife video and this little camera does a quite amazing job. I have a Sony fdr-ax100e and an fdr-ax53 4k camcorders and this camera does the job equally well and better than those two bigger cams. The 200mm lens is what swung it for me and having a mic input. You can get a good used one for about half the retail price now on ebay if you are patient and keep a watch for a good one. That makes it a real bargain in my book. I dont find the lack of a ND filter a problem. My one has a 52mm filter adaptor fitted and it lets me use a variable ND filter when required. I use a polarizing filter often too so adding that adaptor was a must. Another must is to buy one of those rubber add on grips! The body is small and quite slick and adding that grip makes all the difference.The menu is complicated (more so than my Mk4 but over time if you sit and play around with it regularly, you soon get the hang of it and then becomes intuitive..
