Control Board Working, Saved Money
1 of 1 found this helpful My friend lost power during a recent storm. When the power was restored, she noticed the refrigerator light working but the fridge was no longer cooling. Easiest thing to do was pull out the fridge, UNPLUG IT, remove the bottom panel and vacuum/clean in, around and behind the fridge. Excess dust/dirt can make the fridge heat up and shut itself down to protect itself. After cleaning and inspection, the next logical and easy step was to remove the cover on the back of the fridge and evaluate the control board. I noticed right away that the board had some damage. After removing the board and putting it under a light, noticed some of the components had blown. Once the board is out, it's easier to notice damage if you flip the board over, where there are no components and the damage will stand out. With the model and serial number of the fridge, found the compatible control board and installed it. Install is easy (great video tutorials online if needed) and took about 5 minutes - again make sure the fridge is UNPLUGGED during the install. Once all the connections were made, plugged in the fridge and it started working. Put the cover back on and the fridge started to cool down after a couple of hours. I searched all over the web for this board and this price could not be beat. Shipping was fast - got it in about 3 days. Highly recommend this product if it's compatible with your fridge. Saved $500 from a repairman and $1000 for a new fridge.
