A must read for Florida history buffs!
The well written story of the history of Hillsborough county from Conquistador times through the modern era is compelling reading for history buffs. The quality of this used book is excellent. I appreciate getting used books in great condition. A good value.

It reads more like and adventure story than a historical novel.
For anybody interested in the reconstruction period of Florida history, this book reads like a timeline from the 1860's through the 1960's. It is well written and makes compelling reading. The characters are lifelike and easy to empathize with. Life was tough on the Florida plains.
