3+1/2 star movie killed by inept distribution
Found this movie on HBO otherwise I wouldn't know it existed. Did some research and found it wasn't released to theatres because of a quality issue but due to distribution snafues. Amy Heckerling wrote and directed this satire about the LA culture where youth is worshipped and older people are pushed aside. On the surface it would appear to be a standard romantic comedy but with the Heckerling touch it certainly isn't. It should have been her comeback. Makes me wonder what other gems never see the light of day.

Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass '60s - Inca Silver
I was impressed with the Squier Jaguar I purchased in the summer so I decided to see if the quality was there with this bass. I was not disappointed. Finish is beautiful, action is low without buzzing, fret edges are smooth, and the intonation is close to perfect out of the box. Haven't tried to adjust it yet - thinking I might just replace the strings. All in all I don't see the sense in spending many times this amount for a "real" Fender.

Good replacement UPS batteries
After a momentary power drop (blown transformer nearby) I found that my UPS for the PC wasn't working. Since it was eight years old I figured it was probably the batteries that died. These seemed to be the best value for the money. They were shipped promptly and arrived ahead of schedule. Perfectly matched the old batteries. Replacement was simple and they recharged within a few hours. Now my UPS is working again at a fraction of the price of a new one.
