Great looks, good sound

Very good looking valve, gives decent output power in particular in push-pull. Quite high sensitivity and accordingly takes fairly high heater power, also uncommon socket is a drawback.

Technical beauty with power

A beautiful valve of great technical aesthetics, provides plenty of output power, and this particular item is in very good condition. Only drawback is the plate connection via top cap, so, for safety reasons, needs to be caged or operated with a security circuit.

Pure triode with great power

True triode power without strapping of electrodes or interference by a suppressor grid, as with a pentode in 'triode mode'. The double system configuration allows easy application as SE parallel or push-pull amplifier. Ability of quite a high current emission gives this valve low internal resistance, which helps bass reproduction However, in terms of looks I find the straight cylinder shape with domed top boring and would prefer the 'Coke-bottle-shaped' European version ECC230, but this is near impossible to find, except of the Russian equivalent.
