Quick and Easy
Our original remote control supplied with the set-top box when new began to fail after a few years' constant use - some buttons had to be coaxed to make contact and work - rendering the box itself unusable.
I worried that a new remote control might need complicated tuning-in to our box, but it didn't. it arrived a couple of days after I ordered it. i unwrapped it, inserted batteries and it worked immediately - all buttons, every function.
We've got our set-top box back!. we're very pleased.

It's cheap and it works
This is a budget product which works effectively - so far. It's 'one-size-fits all'. The battery, once inserted, is held in place by a spring-loaded ram, so that the unit will accommodate batteries of various sizes. Similarly, the electrical terminals are on sliders so that the user places them to match the positions of the contacts on his/her battery.
With an expensive, dedicated charger, it's normally impossible to insert the battery the wrong way round and make contact with the terminals, but it's theoretically possible with this unit because of the moveable terminals.
The unit has a an illuminated charging indicator showing the state of charge in four stages up to fully charged. This illuminates and gives a constant reading even when the unit isn't plugged into the mains and therefore isn't charging.

Good shaver, needs the correct power cord
Philips is a quality brand and this shaver doesn't disappoint - it can be used wet and in the shower and the battery capacity is good.
I bought in a budget deal which had two minor drawbacks;
a) It came without instructions in English. - I solved this easily by downloading the instruction booklet from Philips' website;
b) It came with only a European 2 pin power cord - the pin thickness and pitch is different from UK plugs. However, nearly all UK bathroom power sockets nowadays have dual plug holes to accept either design, so this hasn't been a problem
