Will it Work?
Getting a used electrical part is always a guess, so this purchase checks all the boxes for a great replacement after installation.

Simple Phone
Not a 'Smart' phone that does what a phone should do...and more!
Call, text, message, and take pictures.
Nice!

BMW R100GS/PD...Did I buy the real thing!?!
5 of 6 found this helpful I've always loved the looks of the GS/PD. Seeing the pictures of the bike for auction and reading the seller's description made for an interesting purchase. This motorcycle is rock solid and pretty clean as airheads go, but the seals on the engine do leak oil as I would expect from a 15 year old bike. I wasn't looking for a garage queen, but a bike I can get my hands dirty with and TLC it back to its former glory. Upon disassembly, close inspection of incorrect parts on the bike added to my disappointment. The bike also carried the factory paint code of '640'and not the '659' that should be for a genuine Red and White R100GS/PD...this means I wasn't careful enough during the initial examination of the vehicle when I picked it up. The point here is that you can't pick it up if you don't buy it! I wanted a unique and special GS/PD to restore and take out on road trips, as well as out onto the trails. The seller apparently was not aware of its previous history, nor was he qualified or familiar enough with airheads to make the assertion that this was the 'Real McCoy' during his Q's and A's of the 'ask the seller' responses. I decided to bid and acquire this bike because the 'Real McCoys' are few and far between...you just don't see many low mileage bikes come onto to the market. This should also qualify for e-Bay's buyer protection plan because this was not the model as described in the item description. I have started a 'dispute for resolution' with the seller via e-Bay...let's see how this turns out...
