02 dodge dakota project
I bought this damaged truck to fix and drive for a while then resell at a profit..first mistake was going too far for one. 1100 miles puts one at a diadvantage if there is a problem. there was. Seller said he had drivien it and it ran well. But it started over heating while we were hooking up some better lights for it. Had a big hole in the radiator. On a sunday . Cost me an extra $75 for motel. But the seller found a guy to patch it up and I was on my way the next day. made it home just fine. But if I had the option to walk away from the deal I would have. for fear that the overheating had damaged the motor but it did not. I learned from this and will do it again but within 400 miles so I can have better options.

Never make a car payment (to a loan co.) by buying on ebay and reselling .
I have been a fan of dodge caravans and grand caravans as a utility second vehicle they work great. I had a 2000 but wanted to move up to a 2005 or newer because the seats stow into the floor . This is so handy as I often have to get panels of wood or sheetrock or carry larger items and you don't have to wrestle with taking the seats out and putting them back in. Buying a vehicle sight unseen on ebay is a little risky but I have found I can bring cash and try out the vehicle before I pony up the cash. If its a lemon, I can point out why it was not as described and get out of the deal with only my travel costs down the drain. I used to be a used car dealer so I know that the prices on ebay for vehicles is very comparable to what I used to pay at the dealer auctions. If you buy a vehicle mechanicly sound but ugly or dirty, you can clean it up and always sell it later for more than you paid for it. This 2007 was such. had paint spots on carpet had decals all over the doors and needed the bumpers repainted and one dent fixed. I can do all that. It runs sweet. I paid 4500 but it is now worth about 6000. So I will drive it for a year and move up another year or two. next time I want an 08 or newer as they have the newer body style and grill. By this process I have not had a car payment in many years . But you have to be willing to see past the cosmetics and do some work to get there.
