Reached out to the seller who offered a refund. As I dug a little deeper in the box I found an unmarked white box. Lo and behold, the seller had included a brand new aftermarket battery! 15 minutes later (thanks YouTube) I had a fully functional pair of headsets! Don’t hesitate to buy from this seller!

Does not have a traditional wooden train whistle sound
does not sound like a traditional wooden train whistle...just a poor quality whistle - price is good - that's about it. If you want a train whistle for your kids or grandkids that sounds like a traditional wooden train whistle...this aint it.
