A warrior story
Cornwell continues his series of novels featuring Lord Uthred. A domineering personality, the fictitious Uthred character brashly forces his way through the story of Alfred the Great in southern England. This book focuses on the battle for London a thousand years after Christ. Believable battle scenes and entertaining characters still leave the reader wondering how the lead character could always get it right, in spite of himself. It is a good followup on the novels preceeding it.

Inspiriational read
The Thoenes' write like movie script writers with drama, romance, and action as key ingredients. Throw in love of Scripture, some intrigue and a few surprizing plot changes, and the familiar characters of the Bible take on new and deeper dimensions. In this volume, the main character becomes none other than the unnamed "man born blind" of John 9. Other characters are Nicodemus, various Pharisees, Roman leaders such as Felix, and the infamous Herod Agrippa. Although some of the characterizations seemed a little over cooked, the plot itself comes across mostly credible. Events surrounding both the birth and ministry of Christ are elucidated. A flashback retelling of the events in the blind man's own story brings it into the modern era, with the Thoenes' pro-Israeli stance clear to all. If you like Bible, you will find plenty to contemplate in this retelling of a famous Bible history.

Easy replacement
The filters arrived quickly and were easy to install. The housing on the front filter was cracked, but that did not effect use or installation.
