Pickups that Make your Strat Sing
I have a 2004 50th Anniversary American Standard Strat. It has the Custom Shop '54 pickups. I was never happy with the thin, bright tone of the bridge pickup. So I replace it with a Seymour Duncan SSL-5. This pickup adds the beef I was looking for without the harshness, and still retains its single coil character.
Now that my bridge pickup is great, I wondered if changing my neck and middle pickup to something with a little more beef would be a good idea. I reviewed other Fender Custom Shop pickups, Texas Specials, other single coil Seymour Duncans and the Lindy Fralin Blues Specials. I chose the Lindy Fralin pickups. These pickups sound great in my Strat. They have the beefier sound and still retain the single coil character. And, now all three pickups are more balanced from an output perspective which makes the 2 and 4 pickup switch positions sound more pronounced, and still quacky. I would describe the Lindy Fralin Blues Specials as overwound, yet still refined in sound. Texas Specials have a less refined character, in my opinion. What I mean is that the refined character of the Lindy Fralin pickups create a beefier, yet very clean sound, whereas, Texas Specials were beefier, but, tended to want to break up the amp sooner. This is what I hear. What you hear in your guitar could be very different.
Bottom line, I love these Lindy Fralin Neck and Middle Strat pickups. with my SD SSL-5 bridge pickup, they have transformed my Strat.

It works!
Added batteries, paired it with my Samsung TV and put my back cover on it. Works perfectly.

You Won't Know What Hit You!
2 of 2 found this helpful This little 5W amp fits in the palm of your hand and sounds like a beast. You can dial down the gain and get some great clean tones at a good volume, maybe not loud enough for a gig, but for in home practice I have plenty of volume to spare. Then you can peg all the dials to 10 and blow the windows out, of course, I haven't proven that, but, again for in home practice, I have the volume on about 2 and get plenty of sound with the gain maxed. The amp has a built in effects loop and I have used that with my whole pedal board. It is great! I run it with a 1x12 cab at 8 ohms.
For the price, this amp cannot be beat.
