Majestic and beautiful, arguably the best recording of Vangelis's career.
To describe Vangelis's Nocturne takes one word - -gorgeous! The music is expansive and majestic, deeply emotional and reflective. Whether it is a solo piano piece or an orchestral reimagining of his classics, the music is always warm and immersive. The album is a perfect blend of classical and cinematic, just listen to Moonlight Reflections, Intermezzo, or To the Unknown Man. Vangelis's reinterpretations of his masterpieces like Love Theme from the Blade Runner and the Main Theme from Chariots of Fire sound fresh and more sophisticated. Through the Night Mist is a highlight of the album for me: the gorgeous string arrangements and haunting piano, the music envelops you. Absolutely beautiful! I have the album on LP and CD. While LP sounds warmer, I prefer listening to it on CD, simply because I do not have to stop and flip the record, and the music flows uninterrupted from start to finish in one long take. If you like classical or cinematic music, do not miss this recording! And for a fan of Vangelis, this is a powerful reaffirmation of him as an Artist. Gorgeous!

One of the most amazing blues recordings...
One of the most amazing blues recordings you can experience. The interplay between Chris Whitley and the rhythm section of Martin and Wood is sublime. They create an atmospheric soundscape that completely envelops the listener. A masterpiece!
