Brother MFC-J480DW Inkjet All-in-One Printer - VG - Tested Works Well

I'd buy it a third time

I've owned this Brothers J480DW for nearly 5 years. It has worked well for the entire time I've owned it (since new). It has been so good that I recommended it to my neighbor and ultimately purchased this one for her as she's not active on Ebay. The only thing about this printer that I don't particularly like is that the whole thing won't function unless all the ink cartridges are full, which is the case with a number of other multifunction printers. You don't need any ink to scan a document but the printer's manufacturer has made that a prerequisite. Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this as a personal printer.

It is what it is.

Come on folks, it's an ink cartridge. It works just like the last one I used in my printer and I strongly doubt it's any better than the next one I'll use. Were you expecting 'love at first sight?' It made my laser printer print in color?

Could be worse

I never said "better than expected" with regard to this product. Considering this is the OEM ink cartridge, it should be the best cartridge available for this printer. I have not tried the aftermarket cartridges so I have nothing to compare it to. I do think that the system is set to alarm way too soon that the ink is low. There's always all kinds of ink left when I take them out to replace them but the printer fails to operate unless the cartridge is changed.
