Would not play CD-R or DVD-R
1 of 1 found this helpful Despite the specifications this unit would not play a data CD and it would not play a slideshow DVD that I had created, a Samsung DVD-E360 played them just fine.

A good fit for "most" fixtures
The lamps did not work in my fixtures without modifications. That is the reason for only 3 stars and not recommending them. My 1st fixture was an older unit that still had a plug in starter - the lamps worked but only after removing the starter. My 2nd fixture was a dual bulb unit and these lamps did not work properly at all; They would not stay on more than about an hour, 1 lamp was dimmer than the other, the ballast overheated. The seller never responded to my request for technical assistance so I had to finally figure out a solution on my own - the lamps are rated for direct wiring (120VAC) so I simply removed the ballast and direct wired the units in parallel, also note - the end terminals are shunted so you have to wire one end to the opposite end and not across the terminals on the same end.

Sounded like a good idea but it's not.
A flexible end sounded like a good idea but in reality it is almost useless. Because the end is not stiff it makes the long handle useless - I just cannot get it to work as I expected. Am I to blame because I am not using it correctly - impossible to say, but the fact remains I found it unusable. The only plus is that it seems to be build fairly well but since I can' t use it I will never know if it holds up well.
