Excellent tech, can be hard to read

I bought this as a replacement for a G-Shock watch I'd had since 2002 and, sadly, lost. I wanted to have a metal bracelet and found, to my amazement, that Casio does not market black G-Shocks with metal bracelets in the USA, so I went to E-Bay. This model is for the domestic Japanese market, so I won't be seeing a lot of others around town. There are differences that will require some adjustment. The display can be hard to read until you learn a few tricks. For unclear reasons, the contrast increases the farther away it is, holding it closer does not improve clarity. All in all, I like the look and technology, but am uncertain if I can adapt to the display. I'm hoping I will.
