Good steel but design fault

The concept of "easily removable blades" has flawed the reliability of the product. The driver end of the blade is in a "U" shape and is weaker (liable to break) than a blade with a 'normal' hole for the blade fulcrum - which of course drives the sale of replacement blades. The secateurs are wonderful for people with arthritis, but just need that extra bit of care because they are not as robust as models which need tools to dissemble. The blade itself is easily sharpened and holds an edge well - especially in green and thin grafting stock (beautiful clean cuts). I now use another tool for dry hard wood lopping.
