Better than I expected
1 of 2 found this helpful DVD recorder/player, and VHS. It takes what seems like a long time to go from power-up to ready, so plan for that. Once it's up, though, it's a neat machine. Use it like a VCR--time shift programs, except instead of using tapes, use DVD-RW's, and then delete the program in an instant. No degradation of tape when using discs! Choice of several DVD recording speeds. Want to format the disc? Takes a minute or two, and done! AND, this unit has a built-in analog AND digital tuners! AND HDMI/component/composite connectivity, so I can easily connect to my flat screen and use it for my PIP tuner. Dub directly from VHS to DVD-R+ or DVD-R-.
Other than the slow startup, the only other negative, if you can call it that, is that this unit can do so much, with lots of options and controls. That means there's a substantial owner's manual, and there is going to be a learning curve. Keep the book handy. I must admit I couldn't get the clock to set automatically, but I'll bet that's a Comcast issue. So I set it manually. No biggee.
I think it's a great, useful unit. I bought a refurb, and held my breath. Haven't had much luck with refurbs before. This one has been fine, so far. Came in looking brand new. Even included the HDMI cable. So I got one for my daughter for her birthday.

Great music.
Great CD. Great interpretations of the music. I really enjoy the orchestrations, but his piano work is delightful as well.

Holy Smokes, that was fast!
