The World at War - The Ultimate Restored Edition [2010] [DVD] [1973] - CD QEVG

Quality upgrade

I don't automatically go for "restored" versions of classic titles but in this case I'm glad I did. I have the original dvd release and the audio was not so good. With this restoration the audio is vastly improved so it is much easier to hear dialog..... especially the narration of Laurence Olivier , which to me was important. For those not familiar with this BBC series, it was originally done in the 1970s and is still one of the most thorough and exhaustive presentations on WW2 ,imo. In about 35 hours they cover just about every facet of the war you could think of. I believe the restoration is also an impovement in the quality of the video portion, so if you have the older version you might really appreciate the upgrade in overall quality.
