Great insert, but noisy
So, heres the catch. Either replace the ripped dogbone mount by dropping your subframe, then have to pay for alignment, or deal with floor vibration and noise around 2300-3000 rpms. The car is noticeably louder but we are much happier that the violent lurch from accel and decel is gone. Also in between reverse and drive shifts there was a terrible clunk before insert.
After install the car shifts smooth. Most notable as it has 215,000 miles on it.
All in all great part at a good price. Only complaint is bolt is 3 threads shorter than OEM and is hard to start as the insert with washers is much thicker.

Great price on a hard to find intake!
Excellent price on the Volant intake! Best intake hands down for mk6 or K04 mk5/6!
I've owned the similar model on my old mk5 gti (non recirc dv) and loved it. Fit and finish were perfect. Since I am K04 converting my car, this is a must have item.

1990 VW Corrado G60
2 of 2 found this helpful The Corrado G60 is a neat car. Not only do they look good, but perform well too. They hndle amazing, they drive smoothly and run awesome when well maintained. The bodylines of a Corrado is wht really sets them apart from other cars. They have this gentle curve that the entire rest of the cars body lines seem to follow. Its really a joy to own a corrado and driving one, even greater. They were all built in Osnabrück Germany by Karmann Coaches. There were only about 97,521 produced between model years 1989 through 1995 and considerably less exisitng today. So Owning a Corrado you mght say, is a unique experience.
There are a few drawbacks to owning a corrado. First on my list of priorities is the 90's seatbelts. They are those annoying power seatbelts that retract when the door is closed. These can be replaced by a more conventional seat belt, however can prove to be a pricey modification.
The second is the lighting. U.S. market cars came with extra thick, very hard to see through headlight glass. European spec headlights are extremely brighter and have a more practical beam pattern. Along with U.S. spec fg lamps, ar also a bit thick on the plastic and hard to see at night.
The single most greatest attribute to the Corrado would have to be the rear speed activated spoiler. It pops up and then goes down. Kind of addicting to watch at first, but with time you will learn not to stare while driving!
I gave the Corrado a lower reliability as both G60 and SLC alike have their own issues. A few notable are window regulators, and sunroof tracks getting messed up. Both very annoying. Also battery drains, the power belt and window control module both get constant power, and over time this causes battery drain and is quite annoying. These all can be fixed and replaced with other model (i.e. passat) parts that fit perfect and operate better than original.
