Weighing 100 lb propane tanks
Tried to find a gauge that would indicate propane in 100 lb tank that I sometimes use for extended stays in RV. Because of ambient temperatures constantly changing couldn't get a good reading. Mounted small pick up crane from HB to tongue of RV and now use use scale to get an exact amount. Tare weight on tank is 67 lbs, full tank is apx 168 lbs. (apx 23 gallons) Now I can track daily or weekly usage and remaining amount to within a few pounds. A gallon of propane weighs apx 4.2 lbs. I have a 20,000 btu furnace in RV so in freezing weather can use a 20 lb cylinder in about a day and a half.
