Renew your alternator for a bargain price.
This is the OE part for the voltage regulator. I read that the part should last 150,000 miles. I pulled mine out and it was on the verge of failing. Installed this and I'm good to go. A simple job to swap as well.

A good generic OEM fan replacement
Not better than expected. This appears to be VW's OEM supplier, replacing Valeo, maker of the original fan in my Porsche.
Its an exact fit, although since its used in dozens of VW models, you have to find instructions on how to install it.
I noticed that the fan blades appear to have a different pitch than the Valeo part. It makes a tiny bit more noise, but also moves more air. My interior is small compared to, say, a four door Jetta.
Reason for four stars is its a compromise. When you have a VW product you will find this happens frequently. If you can find a switch with a part number from an Audi it won't cost a Bentley price.
