A solid upgrade for an LGA775 based system, and if the person is game enough, an ok overclocker. Also good for fitting 8GB RAM to an LGA775 system.
As much of a dismay as it was not being able to OC this too well with 4 modules installed (the P43 chipset on this board is particularly touchy with RAM and overclocking) I was still able to boost the framerates on Overwatch quite heavily by literally using this board over my old G41 based board; the memory controller in the P43 is a whole lot better, and easily drives 4 1066MHz DDR2 modules which gives the CPU a lot more memory bandwidth to work with on these newer more demanding games. Definitely a good cheap upgrade for an old system,* it's also one of the very few LGA775 boards sporting a PCIE 2.0 slot VS the PCIE 1.1 usually found on these old boards.
If you specifically want a board for OCing though, I'd rather you go for a P45 based board, purely because the Northbridge chips are most likely binned better on those boards. plus in 2018 that isn't too likely, I'd actually recommend an AMD Ryzen board over this one now.
Otherwise, if you're like me and like to optimize an old system for playing next-gen games on some real ancient hardware due to money being better used for other things, (or you're a student, again like me!) This board is for you. Never skimp on the mobo on these old CPUs, they'll bite back by being inconsistently slow with certain workloads. Also go for four slot mobos as 4GB DDR2 modules nowadays are expensive and not worth the hassle on a two-slot board.
*Not counting the cost of a new Windows 7 license in certain cases, had to rebuy WIndows 7 due to the original license being OEM.
