Poor design?
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased these to replace the struts on my 2014 Fusion, and only ever attempted to replace one. The fit was correct and it was initially easy to install, however, i ran in to a problem while tightening the top of the strut to the shock tower. These struts have nuts attached to the suspension support, and they sit inside a small housing. While I was roughly halfway through tightening 2 of the 3 bolts, the nuts started spinning. I was able to get pliers on the housing, which i thought would stop the spinning and allow me to tighten the bolt, but the nuts continued to spin inside the housing. I had to cut off the 2 bolts to get the strut off my car.
If these were designed with bolts attached to the suspension support instead of nuts, i would have been able to grab a hold of the bolt above the shock tower if it started to spin. I likely could have avoided cutting them off and probably would have been able to tighten them down. Instead, I sent both struts back and i'm currently hunting for replacements.
