A Nice Disney Kids Movie
I loved the original Annie movie when I was younger so decided to buy the remake for my 4 year old daughter. She loved it so from a child's perspective this is a great choice. From my perspective I was really disappointed - it's been 'Disneyfied' in that it's now a sweet, happy movie that is very child-friendly. Unfortunately the remake has lost a lot of the emotion, depth of character and feeling of the original: the woman who runs the orphanage (played by Kathy Bates) may shout but she does it whilst she's smiling - she's no longer the terrifying scary character she was originally. The kids don't seem to have it as hard so the great escape to Daddy Warbucks doesn't seem as dramatic a change. There is no terror in the kidnap which no longer happens in the remake. So overall, by taking out the hardcore bitterness, sorrow and roughness of the darker aspects of the storyline, the characters and the orphange the makers of the movie have lost the comparison of the joy Annie feels to escape.
The remake is perfect for my daughter now at 4, but I'll also get a copy of the original just for myself, and to expose the 'real' Annie to my daughter when she's a bit older.

Better than the original
Seem to be better than the ‘branded’ product. Last longer and are a fraction of the price. Will definitely be buying more of these and would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic!!!!
This is one of my all time favourites. It is romantic and takes me back to an era that has almost been forgotten. Pure, innocent singing fun. A true classic!
