RC feature not worth extra $$$$
1 of 1 found this helpful I have had almost every kind of aquabot robotic pool cleaner out there. I had the regular unit first, not the turbo. After waiting for what seemed like forever for it to clean the pool, it still missed spots. No matter where I placed it in the pool, I could not get it to go over those spots. I even tried weighing the cord down at the side of the pool so it would stay in the exact spot. No luck! So, when it died, I thought it's not worth the headache to constantly toy with this when I could spend the extra hundreds or whatever to get the remote feature. Then I could make it go where I wanted it to go. It cleaned the pool in several hours, not days, with the turbo feature. It even went over the trouble spots. However, the remote was a bust. The problem is, it doesn't turn on a dime. I never could tell if the remote even worked, or if the cleaner was just doing what it would have done anyway. That's how slow it reacted. I doesn't respond fast like those race car toys you see on television. I was very disappointed. For the amount of life in this product (4 years, 5 if your lucky), my advice is to get the cheapest turbo with the brushes you can find that you can get repaired locally. Haven't tried the ones with wheels, but I heard it does not work well on ingrounds.
