love it
1 of 1 found this helpful The sound is crisp and clean. My first "higher end" receiver. I bought this model because a friend of mine who works at a high end retailer thought it would be a great step up from my old RXV557 and boy was he right. If your thinking about this RXA1000 just do it, you will not be unhappy. It will however take you some time to fully figure it out. The on-screen display is great and I have it hooked to the internet and love the music options avalable. My wife and I enjoy listening to old artist's we grew up with and is right at your fingertips, anything you can imagine.
I will say the tuner is very weak as I have trouble getting radio stations my old one pulled in with just the small wire it comes with but found I do not miss it much.
Yamaha seems to be the favorite digital processing of many people as well as mine. Does a great job.
Since I have upgraded my speakers now as well I wonder if I should of spent a couple hundred more to get some more power, I had no idea what I was missing before and can only imagine what the 2000 and 3000 models would do.
Just give yourself time and get to know it, its very high tech, compared to what I had anyway. My only regret is thinking maybe I should have saved a little longer and got the 2000 but I am very happy with my 1000 and can always add another amp later.
