Easy on the hands
1 of 1 found this helpful I have ulnar nerve dysfunction in my dominant hand. I had surgery for it in September and was back to knitting on the next day. The orthopedic surgeon says I won't need physical therapy since I knit, crochet, and otherwise use my arms and hands a lot. Despite constant numbness in my ring and pinky fingers, I can still hold the needles. These needles are easier for me to manage than the round ones. I already had them in dpns, and I realized that I'd like them in other configurations too. These straight needles are smooth, the size is engraved in the ball on the top of the needle, and the case has elastic slots. You do have to move the needle heads around a bit, because the balls are too wide for them to fit across the case in a straight row. I use straight needles for knitting scarves, swatches, and other items that will be seamed later.
