Contrary to my Ford dealer, you CAN make the tailgate kid friendly
3 of 3 found this helpful My VERY expensive Super Duty came with a non-damped tailgate. It dropped like a sack of ****. After a few minutes work (literally) I now have a 2017 tailgate which drops slowly and softly. If only Ford-Lincoln of Cookeville TN had heard of this part!
If you want it to match your paint scheme, because it comes in black, you'll need to either paint it yourself or take it to a body shop.
Fits on the right hand side by replacing the hinge and installing the shock absorber below the hinge. To install the threaded ball, the location is very tight so hold the shank just below the ball with needle nose and turn the flats with a open end wrench or ratcheting wrench. Very tight but very doable.

Fender Custom Shop equals one sweet guitar. Expensive, but worth it.
I have other guitars. I even have other stratocasters. Now I understand the custom shop difference. It's lightweight, resonant beyond belief (think Gibson,) and the intonation is dead-nuts accurate right out of the case. The output jack is extremely tight compared to my Am. Standard.
It comes with the "ashtray," a custom shop cable, old-fashioned strap, and custom shop documentation. I wish it had strap locks installed---but I have already taken care of that detail.
Add to that the E.C. boost circuitry and this becomes a very unique piece of gear. Thank you custom shop.

If only it came with instructions. But it works.
1 of 1 found this helpful If you're not handy, find another product because there are no instructions. I figured it out and it worked well for my application (mini-split) but I doubt it will hold more than 150-200 lbs. 80-90 kg.
The fit and finish is good. The hardware is adequate.
