Allowed remote internet access
I was not sure if this product was going to work - to enable my laptop to connect to the internet via a 4G connection - but it did. The manual translation from the original Romulan (kidding!) was a little choppy, but I was able to connect pretty easily. The external antenna connector turned out not to be needed, but IF the signal strength in your area is weak, you can get a direction Yagi or log-periodic antenna to get usable bandwidth, not an option with smaller hotspots.

Well made product, but not universal
This is a solid bit of kit, but it doesn't fit every car. If your latch is a continuous round bar loop, sure. My Chevy HHR has a flat bar section, wider than the hook on the step is really designed for. It fits after a fashion.

I wasn't expecting the neoprene palms, which rip easily. Sizing runs small.
