One of the best portable DVD players

I bought my Zenith DVP615 portable DVD player a while ago when I was researching DVD players to take on car trips for the kids. I actually bought this and a more expensive Sony model that had a larger screen. According to the specs, the Zenith actually had more vertical lines of resolution on the display, plus, it seemed slightly louder. I eneded up going with the Zenith because the remote allowed you to zoom in. Some widescreem movies had the black bars on top and bottom, but I could zoom in to fill the screen better. The Sony, even though it was supposedly widescreen, still has some of the black bars, but I could not zoom in, thus the larger screen actually showed a smaller movie. The only downside to this player is possibly a defective swivel screen design. In the car, we had the body facing the front of the car while the screen was turned to face the rear passengers. After several years, I can no longer swivel it around so the screen faces the front, but it still does fold flat. I took the unit apart to see if I could fix this problem, but there is a metal collar inside that was brittle and had broken into pieces. Not fixable, but still usable. Also, my a/c adapter died, but I can pick up a replacement. I would buy another Zenith player for backup if I found a good buy one one.
