WG430 WORX 13-amp Electric Leaf Mulcher Shredder

Impractical in damp climate

We have abundant leaves from a variety of trees. I had hoped this machine would help to put those leaves to good use. However, it proved incapable of shredding tough oak leaves, and ultimately mulched only about one quarter of the leaves that I fed into it Admittedly, some of these leaves were slightly damp, but how is one in the NW to ensure that fallen leaves remain completely dry? Had the auction description (or any description anywhere) specified that absolute dryness was a precondition for effectiveness, I would not have purchased the machine to begin with. Only when I opened the box and read through the instructions was there any indication that leaves must be dry for the mulcher to work.
