    HARBINGER APS12 POWERED PA SPEAKER
    Dec 07, 2015
    Good little workhorse speaker/amp.
I bought my Harbinger APS12 used 2 years ago and have used it in various setups; as a monitor, as a standalone pa for both speaker and performance events, as a keyboard amp and as a mini-dj station and it has worked flawlessly, no issues. The EQ is simple, dialed in, 3 controls, obviously no onboard 'shaping', what comes in, goes out. I REALLY light the light weight of the molded plastic shells too, yes I know you give up a little low end with plastic, but I THINK this unit weighs less than 30 pounds, verses my wood and carpeted Peavey 12" speakers that are about 60 pounds each. Overall I'd rate it higher is it had a little more headroom, but good sound and value.
    Yamaha YTS-52 Tenor Saxophone (USED)

    Brighter than I was expecting
First, I love this horn, it's my first intermediate sax and I'll be playing it a long time. The first thing that got my attention was the precision in the keywork, I come from playing a Selmer Aristocrat, TS600, a very decent horn, with good keywork, but not the precision of this horn. Second, the tone is brighter than the Selmer. With the Selmer I would move from Otto Link NY8 metal to Jody Jazz HR 7 depending on if I wanted to brighten up the tone with the Otto Link. With this horn, I don't think I'll ever use the metal mouthpiece, it starts out that much brighter. I'm using the Jody Jazz HR and a Meyer 7 hard rubber. I've also moved to 3.5 reeds for the Yamaha. Overall, it's a great step up, I'm adjusting to the brighter tone and will be playing the '52' a long time. Robert

    Undersized for keyboard amp.
This is a decent guitar amp, but for the keyboard, the lows are too much for this 12" speaker and box. I wouldn't do it again. I have to bring the bass WAY down to play out on keys, otherwise I'm buzzing badly in my left hand.
