Welcome return from new wave legends
First new material from the Furs since 1991 doesn’t disappoint. A settled lineup which has toured for a long time drops easily into a set of mostly Butler brothers tunes, readily identifiable with dense interwoven guitars, keyboards and sax and Richard’s distinctive vocals.
Contributions too from Furs lags of old in production and background instruments make this a compelling return to form, as welcome as it is unexpected.

It’s a battery
It’s a battery. It is inserted into the device and the device operates.

Well made, good looking trad bike pump
Unlike the current crop of compact, push-on pumps that mean all things to Schrader and Presta valves, this is the traditional screw a small connector hose onto a presta valve and the other end into the body of the pump unit.
I have been riding presta valve equipped bikes for 50 years, and although I would give HG Wells’ Uncle Podger a run for his money in the diy incompetence stakes, one thing that hadn’t really caused much grief was the ability to pump air into a bicycle tyre. . Until I bought one of these dreadful new-fangled push-on devices. (Check the web for similar comments). As the retailer says, a bicycle pump is a simple device that doesn’t require any input from NASA.
Three broken valves, two trips to Halfords and some upset neighbours (my uncouth language) later, I am now able to pump up my tyres again with a proper pump.
It looks nice, seems to be well made and you know what? It works.
Thanks Zefal.
