Excellent for road trips!
I got a set of these for a 2400 mile solo trip to Yellowstone NP, and they really made life easier - the included shoulder straps make them easy to bring your gear into a motel or keep them close to your tent in case you need anything during the night. I found that I couldn't pack much in the outside pockets without making it hard to close the saddlebags, but they're still useful for small items. The bags came with a stiffener strip to slide in to make the bags hold their shape when empty, one of the two bags has a few pockets on the inside, and the zippers look like they would be pretty water-resistant if your saddlebag seals leaked. Only one negative - mine came with a really strong chemical/plastic odor on the inside, but that seems to be dissipating with time and use, not a big deal. These were a great purchase! (My cat likes to sleep inside one of them if I leave it open in the house - his review is positive also.)
