Clunky feel
I got this as a replacement for an earlier model that had a tapered handle which I found more comfortable to use than this one. I'm assuming that the one I had before was an earlier model simply because I had it for a very long time, but it could be that this was an earlier model still in production.

Not a straight replacement
I suspect that the carb may work, but it doesn't work the same way as the original. I did a simple replacement which is easy (you do need a torx screwdriver. When I primed it by pressing the bulb no fuel showed up in the bulb which was also rather stiff. However the SRM 225 did start. Since the problem with the original carb was in the black plastic piece that rotates when you pull the trigger, I replaced the bulb and its white plastic mount and gasket with the same parts from the original carb. All working properly now, but i can't recommend this carb as it should work exactly the same as the original.

Ttime will tell if the quality is there; so far, so good.
Haven't had it long enough to give an honest opinion on quality - time will tell.
