Great Sound - Best bang for the Buck
This is the second set of headphones that I have ordered. This set is for a friend. I absolutely love this headset. I have had mine for over a year and it has worked flawlessly. What sold me on this headset is that it runs wirelessly on 900 Mhz. Beware of the IR (infrared) head sets. You have to be in line of site with the transmitter in order for them to work. They will not work through walls so you can't leave the room. Also beware of a set that has the built in FM radio. If you live in a big city, you might have trouble finding a clear spot on the FM band to tune your headset to. These are also generally unstable and tend to have a lot of frequency drift so you're constantly fussing with them to keep them on frequency. The RCA WHP 141 does not have any of these issues and at the price, they are a real bargain. They sound great and have a good frequency range so you'll enjoy movies, TV or music. They are the best buy for the price. Get a set, you'll love them.

    Better than I expected.
I have this mounted on a PVC pipe about 1 ft above ground. It is also grounded to a 4 ft. Ground rod. I attached 84 ft of 14 ga stranded wire then hooked it to my FT-450 D. I thought I would try it with the wire just strung between some bushes close to the ground before putting it in position. I have to run it along my roof line due to HOA restrictions. I wasn't expecting much but was I surprised. I tuned up 20 meter FT-8. The first pass showed a station in Kuwait. (I'm in SW Florida). I also heard Moldava, Kenya, Brazil, Russia, Estonia and a bunch of other European stations. So now I'm excited. Even though I did not have the antenna mounted at a good height, I decided to give the 450D antenna tuner a try. This tuner can be a bit finicky and is not known for correcting SWR 3:1. To my surprise, the tuner tuned the antenna to a 1:1 SWR on all bands from 160 meters to 6 meters. The noise level on the lower bands was an acceptable S3. It was much lower than I had anticipated as my readings on the subject indicated that the random wire antennas can be very noisy. As darkness fell, I tuned 40 and 80 meters. 40 was already producing some European stations and 80 was showing some stateside activity. If you are looking to install a random wire antenna, I would highly recommend this product. It is well constructed and made with quality materials. I expect years of service from it. I hope to have the antenna in its proper location in the next day or two and will report back on results with transmitting. Jim NB3P
