Trial by fire
Our Forest Service Hotshot Crew used to use these bottles on wildfires for carrying chainsaw fuel. Unlike any other containers we used, the Nalgene fuel bottles never leaked or ruptured. A 0% failure rate under challenging conditions. It is considered beneficial to not be carrying a container that leaks gasoline when in close proximity to a forest fire. For some reason these bottles lost certification and were no longer authorized as fuel containers. They went out of production. Why? I don’t know, but these passed literal trial by fire better than any of the other containers we used.

Good product
This is a throwback product from the 1970s. We were glad to be issued this piece of equipment because it did not rot like the earlier models. The quality of the item was high, especially considering the age of the product.
