Finely detailed model from reputable manufacturer
Its a very realistic model, finely detailed. I have not operated it yet, it is brand new in the box but it's also 20 years old at the same time - sometimes these NOS model locomotives need a little coaxing to run after sitting for so many years so even if it doesn't run the best right off the bat, its most likely no fault of the manufacturer. Athearn is one of the most respectable manufacturers in the business and I have alot of experience with their products and it has been just about entirely positive.

Long Live the Blue-Box Boxcars!!!
I have just gotten back into model railroading after a 15-20 year hiatus and have been rapidly adding to my freight car collection. I always enjoyed building Athearn Blue Box cars and locomotives when I was young in the 90s and they comprise a good portion of my fleet. This Union Pacific Reefer car caught my eye with its "Union Pacific Fruit Express" livery, which is something a little different. I have been building several HO scale freight cars from other manufacturers and this Athearn Blue Box model was the most straight-forward and easiest to build out of them all. It required no drilling and minimal gluing...which can't be said for some of the other models I have built recently. The finished product is nice rolling, good looking boxcar. I enjoyed putting it together and it brought back fond memories of my youth. I hope to find some more Athearn blue box kits on ebay in the future!

Simple, Well-Made Replacement Part
I operate a small fleet of 2-cycle Lawn Boys that range from 25-50 years old and sometimes OEM parts are difficult to come by or are very expensive. Stens offers many new OEM quality parts that fit my mowers such as this Inline Fuel Shutoff Valve. The Stens even exceeds the original part in features as it offers an intake screen on the tank side of the valve where the original did not. The price was a reasonable value and to top it off it was made in USA! It fit perfectly and it seems to be doing its job of stopping the fuel from flowing into the carburetor when valve is closed. The Original was allowing fuel to flow even with the valve closed causing fuel to leak out the carburetor when stored. I will definitely be using Stens parts in the future.
