A New-Old Fashion Christmas
Having the CD, Christmas Portrait, for more than 35 years, I know just about every nook and cranny of the songs on the disc. Having knowledge of the SHM-CD pressing, I was very excited to see that both, Old Fashion Christmas and Christmas Portrait, was both released, in this format. The sound is astounding, rich, full bodied and so much more detail. I only wonder, if the echo, (which is quite present) was originally apart of the master recording in the 1980's. But all in all, these two discs was worth the price, and the wait.

TDK scores a TD with me
Anyone, who has used a Dat Recorder (Sony's in my case) will tell you how frustrating it is to have a dropout, in digital recording, this, is a nightmare, the reaction from this small, but monumental effect causes a sound, that is the equivalent of the sound between stations when channel surfing, in the eighties, when FM stereo turners did have the auto mute until a new signal was found, and a cats tail you accidentally stepped on, both together. The TDK-Pro, Dat tapes are of the highest quality in shell case and tape. I have used TDK, Standard, and these TDK-Pro for over twenty years, and have never had a problem with this tape brand. I speak not only from this realm, I have use TDK's reel to reel, cassette and now Dat Tape.
