JVC KD-V6 3 Head Cassette Deck

Eye-Candy with a major drawback...
I owned one of these decks. It was a "GOOD" deck and a quality performer. It is also a nice piece of eye candy with great, informative displays. However - If you look closely at this 3-Headed light show, - you'll notice that it lacks a KEY feature related to having 3 heads. Where is the BIAS adjustment? Whoops! A 3-headed deck without a bias adjustment is like a standard sports car without a clutch. Major gaffe! The rumor is that JVC wanted to introduce an upgrade to the KD-V5 model. Adding another head seemed logical, but it was pure marketing hype. Without a BIAS adjustment the key reason to have a 3rd head -to optimize tape calibrations in real-time- was completely lost. In Theory, the V6 should outperform the V5 due to the record/playback head-gap differential. But, JVC dropped the ball when they opted to take the lazy way out and that is why this deck is merely a "GOOD" deck.
