SE 7712WC Professional 12-Piece Wood Carving Chisel Set
Feb 20, 2018
At the buy-it-now price, it could be a deal
These chisels are (A) flashy, (B) numerous, (C) fine-grained enough to take a really sharp edge. However, at the same time they are (D) too soft to hold an edge. I bought a set in an estate sale, seemingly at a good price, but I have spent way too much of the previous couple days sharpening, re-sharpening, and re-re-sharpening them, while setting some Brusso knife-hinges into an oak frame. Phooey. I have ordered a set of Lie-Nielson chisels to replace these Freud chisels. Interestingly, it's not the brand at fault, as my Freud Fusion 10" table saw blade is a real gem. Maybe we're seeing why the WC-110 set is no longer available.
PIONEER ELITE VSX-56TXi 770W 7.1 Digital AV Receiver

Newer tech is not necessarily better
This AVR is getting to be somewhat elderly tech, but Dang! it works well. It's really heavy (little over 40 pounds), lots of which is transformer and capacitor, so that it can do its job without audio distortion. It can handle sound systems up to 7.1 at 100 watts/channel (I use only 5.1). It easily integrates with the television set and multiple sound sources and is suitably flexible in its internal routing of them. This is my second one; I broke a terminal on my old one in trying to get to the source of its failure to respond to the remote anymore. But it had worked so well that I was completely sold on getting its identical replacement, and I'll use the old one for parts if/when that becomes necessary.
