Capture ALL there is to see
If the widest lens you've ever used has been in the 24-28mm range, you owe it to yourself to try the Nikon 20mm f/2.8 D. The wide aperture affords loads of light right down to the end of magic hour, and you'll see the world from the tidepool in front of you to well up past the rising moon. Fast-focusing, affordable, and flexible, this lens is even usable on my D5600 in a pinch (minus the AF as a 30mm).
The 20mm is the last signpost before you enter the world of fisheye surrealism and captures as much as anyone could possibly hope to cover. Whether you shoot landscape, reportage, or even style/fashion, this is an absolutely essential tool, and I can't believe I've managed this long without one!

Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G ED FX Lens
An excellent, sharp lens that might be your new favorite if you’ve never used one. It took me years to discover how useful the 35mm angle of view is, but it’s that small difference between 35 and 50 (or 28) that puts it in a kind of universal sweet spot. Highly recommended, and the AF-S will work perfectly on everything from an F4 to a Z9 (with the FTZ I or II adapters). The 35 was a favorite of Annie Leibovitz, and now I understand why.
