Effective
Not difficult to put on and take off. The Velcro straps are very secure. They seem to me longer than necessary (a bit of an inconvenience when you need to put the weights back into the box for storage), but maybe users with really thick ankles will need them.

At last, scissors with some weight to them
I had a pair of scissors for office use that had served me well for decades until I damaged them by my carelessness. When I went to look for a replacement, all that I could find were hideous and useless lightweight things with plastic handles that looked as if they could not cut through more than about two sheets of paper. I preferred to use my old, damaged scissors, until somewhere I saw an advertisement for shears like these (by OneSquare). Strong and rugged, as well as sharp, they are as good as my old pair, which is saying something.
