Suzie Smiled...The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal
John Tucker is probably the most knowledgeable person on the planet in regard to the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. He was there right in the middle of things as they were happening and began writing on the on the subject from the earliest days. Grab his book "Neat & Tidy: The Story Of Neat Records" for an even deeper dive into inner workings and artists of the most important independent record label of the NWOBHM movement.

Bang For The Buck!
3 of 3 found this helpful I'm using these Polk Audio Monitor 60 Series II with a Sherwood RX-4508 200 watt 2 channel receiver. I'm not using a sub woofer and don't feel the need for one. My rig is strictly for listening to music and the colorless, clean, accurate sound is exactly what I'm looking for in my 12 by 14 foot listening room. The power and clarity of the Polk's is incredible. The small footprint works great in the tight confines of my office. The bass is subtle until you push a little extra wattage at them and then you'll be amazed at what 3 five and a quarter inch drivers can do. Highs and midrange audio is beautiful on these. The sound carries so well that at times I think I have speakers in all four corners of the room, The build quality is excellent and they have a nice solid sound when you rap them with your knuckles.
I bought these directly from Polk's Ebay store for $88.00 for each speaker. These are easily worth double or even triple that. I believe the original MSRP was $299.00. The FedEx delivery was excellent. Neither cardboard shipping box had so much as a dent or even a tiny hole.
The only thing I'd change about the speakers would be to have gotten them in cherry finish, but it wasn't available. The formal black looks fine too. It matches all of my components perfectly.

Samson - Bright Lights Box Set
Tremendous overview of NWOBHM also rans Samson during their early years including Bruce Dickinson's era with the band. The bonus tracks are just icing on the cake. I have all of this on original vinyl, so I can say that the remasters do nothing to detract from the original mix while pumping new life into the music.
