4 of 4 found this helpful i bought these after sending back the Sennheisers.i chose between the Sennheiser 280 PRO and the Audio Technica ATH MX40..all were $99.. though they all sounded good, the Sonys had crisp highs.. the others were too bass heavy and sounded muffled. too bad as i liked the construction of the others, especially the removable ( and straight) cord on the A/Ts..but in the end, it's the sound that counts. The Sonys have been used in studios for years, because they accurately re-produce the music. I use them in my home studio, and they are great!
