Buy one while they are still available !!!! ..............
These are the best of the best because they have better cooling than the new slim-line units, and heres the kicker, they play all old PS2 and PS games with a hardware compatibility chipset, not software emulation like the later first gen models. Rumour has it that these cost Sony $600 to 700 to build every single one, they are so majorly overengineered and featured, they were buying their way into the game market. It took years for Sony's PS division to show a profit. This is the man in PS gaming systems, hands down.

Great Piece and Very Bright
My son is in Japan, on the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, and is in the reactor engineering dept. He uses this all the time to light up dark areas for electrical maintenance ( He's an EMN3 ), and for when the overheads are out he can get stuff from his underbunk storage tray without waking up his bunkmates. Someone stole his first one and he lamented this so much that I got him another one and sent it over, and got two for me as well, one for each of my cars. The frame is solid aluminium and can take a beating, and the side-mounted cob grouping is great when you need to lay it down and have light upwards or sideways w/o being able to hold the lamp. It has multiple brightness settings available and can also do emergency strobe, all great features. Overall, a solid piece, a bit more expensive than your typical Chinesium "disposables", but well-built and worth the $$$$$.
